I don't really understand where you are going with this. I couldn't tell you much about slang from the West Coast or the South (I've never lived there), but we could talk all day about East Coast slang. As far as "hea" goes, that's the way a lot of Blacks pronounce it (again, I'm only talking about the East Coast, because that's all I know). The last 2 letters (-re) is always pronounced like an "-a." So it also applies to other words like dear, rear, etc.

You don't seem like an ignorant person, but I don't really agree with this statement. Go to the South and listen to the way White Southerners pronounce words. They speak with their own brand of slang and their own version of English, fully based on their upbringing. You think COLLEGE is, all of a sudden, going to change the way people speak?? - All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. - There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs.
