    Josh Freeman

Wow. I watched the Bucs win today, and I'm impressed. How on earth was he not starting from Day 1? I know it's only one game, but wow. He reminds me of McNabb. His throwing style, his ability to create things on the run, his field vision. I think Tampa has a real future franchise QB there.

I am not as quick to react because you see it all the time. New QB comes in and nobody has tape on him. Three games later the D knows his tendencies are and bam, the guy is mediocre. He keeps this up then I will be impressed.

Everyone ripped on Freeman being an erratic QB

It's one freaking game, Matt Leinart looked like a Hall of Fame QB after that Chicago game too.

    Re: Josh Freeman

    he was ok.

Remember the last time Bills fans jumped to conclusions about a rookie QB from his first start?

Edwards against Baltimore. and before that Losman against Houston. What does that get you?

    Re: Josh Freeman

Let's put Freeman in Canton with is 14 of 31 completions. Freeman benefited from two short fields and two returns for scores by the D and special teams. Two TD drives TOTALED 24 yards.

He played good for a debut, but lets not get carried away especially considering how erratic he was in college. Let's see how he does next week.

I would trade Edwards for him.

I never said he was a Hall of Fame QB. I said he should've been starting from week 1, and that he looked good this week. I said that Tampa looks like they found a future franchise QB, possibly.

The difference between the two, IMO, is that Freeman isn't afraid to get hit, and has the ability to make plays on the run.

But you are right, I am one of those that thought that about Trent 3 years ago.

Bumpppppppp for Resident Einstein F_L, 8 Ints in last 2 games. 13 ints in 6 starts. The kid was not ready. That is why he was not starting from start.

    Re: Josh Freeman

The only point F_L made was that he should have been starting from day one, which he should have been.

The Bucs are clearly rebuilding so what was the point of starting Leftwich and Johnson? There wasn't one. They shouldn't just let Freeman start all season so gain as much experience as possible.

    Re: Josh Freeman

How come he doesnt post here anymore?
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

The only way he will get ready is to play.

Starting Johnson or Leftwich would do nothing for TB except set them back even further.
