Wow, this is from my trip there LAST year!!
Although I sense it will be different this year, simply because it's a new season, and - by definition - this has to be a big game.
I don't know what you saw in Miami, but the time I went was real tailgating. At least everyone I saw. Similar to Buffalo, only warmer.
I'll give ya that, though, Bills fans know how to tailgate!!! And so do the visiting fans, trust me! We'll be out there Sunday again, can't wait!
For the record, never said you guys didn't know how to tailgate when I made this thread! Heck, I think it gets better if you are losing - more drinking!!
This year will be fun. I always go w/ Bills fans, so it lessens the crap I take (which is way less than the late 80s/early '90s, the point of my thread), but this year, w/ both teams being 0-0, there will be more riding on it.
On paper, in a vacuum, I see a Dolphins victory by 7-10 points. I'd be confident, if it weren't for the following:
-Dolphins have sucked in the first two games each season under Sparano (0-2 in '08, 0-3 in '09).
-We've lost the last five in Buffalo (not counting the Toronto game), and traditionally struggle there in any year not ending in seventy-something.
-I'm personally 0-9 watching Dolphins-Bills games there. That's right, I've been there nine times, and seen nine Dolphins losses. So, outside of anything on the field that you feel gives you an advantage, this is perhaps your biggest advantage - me being in the stands. The thing is, I could take it in the late 80s/early '90s when you were truly better, but I've also been unlucky in other years, like in '97 when Marino got hurt in the first quarter and the immortal Alex Van Pelt outdueled Craig Erickson for a boring victory. Then, there was Joey Harrington's Zero-point-Zero-Zero QB rating in '06. Fun! And last year, for crying out loud!!! My Dolphins have never won in Buffalo, but at least I eat and drink well!
