    Where's the spirit Bills fans???

Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me, during my last few trips out to the Ralph, the Bills fans have become ..... oh, I don't know - pussified???? Back when I went there in the late '80s, early '90s (heck, even the late '90s), I was given hell all day long. Back in '88, the entire section around me chanted "A-hole" (so to speak) at me after I celebrated a Miami Toucdown. Some guy in an ape suit lead the way.

In 2006 and 2007 when I went, the fans were into the team, but they were very low-key in their insults towards me. Got the basic mundane "Squish the Fish," etc. then people would talk football with me. Were even nice. During my tailgate in '06, we had a blast with about 10 Bills fans around us, shotting the **** and having a blast. No way that happened back in the day.

Even in '07 when you could really rub it in (you gave us our 13th loss that day, to go 0-13), people were happy just to talk the next draft with me. Really????

I even had this convo with a couple fans back in '06 when I had such a great time. The consensus was that the games haven't meant all that much for so long, that people have lost their energy.

Anyway, just wondering what happened to the energy I used to feel there. Went to college in Rochester back during those SB days, and I guess I've just come to expect a tougher breed of Bills fan. Lately, notsomuch!

Oh, feel free to be easy on me this Sunday too!!!

I have, and nothing happened. Most understand I'm joking/making a point. I'm not a dick just to be a dick when I got to Buffalo. If I was, that would make me a Jets fan.

I have been to Miami for their Gay Wine and Cheese party Tailgates. It was A JOKE!! Never seen so many pussies lined up before.

We Tailgate long and we tailgate hard in Buffalo. That is one thing you can't take from us.

Re: Where's the spirit Bills fans???

Wow, this is from my trip there LAST year!!

Although I sense it will be different this year, simply because it's a new season, and - by definition - this has to be a big game.

I don't know what you saw in Miami, but the time I went was real tailgating. At least everyone I saw. Similar to Buffalo, only warmer.

I'll give ya that, though, Bills fans know how to tailgate!!! And so do the visiting fans, trust me! We'll be out there Sunday again, can't wait!

For the record, never said you guys didn't know how to tailgate when I made this thread! Heck, I think it gets better if you are losing - more drinking!!

This year will be fun. I always go w/ Bills fans, so it lessens the crap I take (which is way less than the late 80s/early '90s, the point of my thread), but this year, w/ both teams being 0-0, there will be more riding on it.

On paper, in a vacuum, I see a Dolphins victory by 7-10 points. I'd be confident, if it weren't for the following:

-Dolphins have sucked in the first two games each season under Sparano (0-2 in '08, 0-3 in '09).
-We've lost the last five in Buffalo (not counting the Toronto game), and traditionally struggle there in any year not ending in seventy-something.
-I'm personally 0-9 watching Dolphins-Bills games there. That's right, I've been there nine times, and seen nine Dolphins losses. So, outside of anything on the field that you feel gives you an advantage, this is perhaps your biggest advantage - me being in the stands. The thing is, I could take it in the late 80s/early '90s when you were truly better, but I've also been unlucky in other years, like in '97 when Marino got hurt in the first quarter and the immortal Alex Van Pelt outdueled Craig Erickson for a boring victory. Then, there was Joey Harrington's Zero-point-Zero-Zero QB rating in '06. Fun! And last year, for crying out loud!!! My Dolphins have never won in Buffalo, but at least I eat and drink well!

To compare Miami Tailgaiting to Tailgaiting in Buffalo is a purely Fabricated LIE!!! Plain and simple.

In Miami all the queers had their little tents in an exact row and were sitting there in Silence. I witnessed it with my own eyes and it has been confirmed by anyone I know that has gone to a game there(which is in the 100s) In Buffalo it is a **** fest with drunkards screaming and yelling all over the place. Things burning, Games being played, etc. I don't know if I can say this is something to be proud of but to say a Buffalo tailgate lacks energy is just plain lying. Where are you parking in the handicap area??? Park in Lot 5, tons of action over there.

Did you actually read my post? I specifically said this doesn't apply to tailgating. Plenty of energy there - one of the things I enjoy. Again don't know what you are watching in Miami. Plenty of roudy tailgaters there. The tents are to get relief from the harsh sun, something you have to do in Miami!!

Just saying that I don't feel the same energy I did years ago in the stadium. Been there enough times to know!!

Re: Where's the spirit Bills fans???

Umm, yesterday the fans were very nice to me. The nicest ever. In fact, late in the game, this guy sits down next to the Bills fans directly behind us and asks them if they've been giving us **** all game for being Dolphins fans. The one guy goes, "I would love to, but they're just so nice, I can't."

    Granted, we are nice!

And in the parking lot, this Bills couple came over and made us feel welcome, since my wife and I were alone (season-tix-holding Bro/sis-in-law's daughter was sick and they couldn't go.).

Just sayin! The Early 90's, this ain't!!

Granted, it's not like I didn't hear my share of "Let's Go Buffalo," etc. and saw enough "**** Miami" T-shirts to make my wife blush, but it was all in good fun. Even when we were trying to park, there was this Bills fan running by our cars going "**** the Dolphins, look, they're Dolphins fans, **** them, **** the Dolphins fans."

But he was doing it w/ a smile on his face. In '95 when I was there (a HUGE game if you remember, Bills pulled it out), a guy threw a cup of beer on my car's rear window when we were trying to park!! He saw my Dolphins sticker and apparently didn't agree with it.

    Those were the days ...
