    Trying to be positive

Vanek and Roy were FLYING last night, particularly in the 3rd period. I don't think I've ever seen Vanek skate so hard/fast. The Sabres probably wouldn't have even tied the game and picked up a point if it weren't for it.

Hopefully the two of them will start skating that hard on a regular basis.

I always try to be positive but my patience is wearing thin. This post kind of nails it down.

    - They are two of the highest paid players on the team. We shouldn't be saying hopefully they do it. They should be doing it on a nightly basis and should've been for the past two seasons.

    Agreed.

And really, though - did you or anyone else notice how fast Vanek was skating in the 3rd? I didn't even know he could skate that fast!!!

I am so ****ing sick of Vanek.

Roy set him up beautifully and he got stuffed by an average goalie. Fortunately Roy was there to clean up his mess.

Granted, Vanek has been better lately, but it's too little, too late, and it hasn't lifted the team at all.

Artist's rendering of Thomas Vanek after a trip to Tim Hortons:

    ...Rob

    it's Don't Tread On Me.

I think last night was the first time I've seen Vanek knock somebody down
“You hold a players only meeting and get each guy to stand up and say what he can bring to the table... and if he doesn't, you punch him in the face.” ~~ Harry Neale, on how to fix the Sabres season.
