Yep, watched it live on TV - wished I could have gone to Lake Placid to watch in person but didn't have the cash - as in those days I was just a young wet behind the ears college punk with a skull full of mush (sadly like too many that post in this forum today).Originally Posted by SaviorEdwards
Here's the Wikipedia article on the games;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Winter_Olympics
And the 1980 Olympic team gets prominent mention
"The most notable highlight of not only the Games, but arguably in all of sports history, involved the United States men's ice hockey team."
Thanks to commercialism, we'll never see anything like this ever again in future Olympics.

Your math is kind of fuzzy... 30 year olds aren't even old enough to have been able to watch it...Originally Posted by SabreEleven
Thank you. I was just asking if anyone saw this historic event. You can always expect someone to be a dickhead about it though.Originally Posted by BlackMetalNinja

So this is what hockey looks like? Interesting. I love all the hitting. Maybe the Sabres are watching...
Anyone else know where I can get a Miller team USA jersey for a good price? Those are really sweet!
Yeah, I love the hitting so far... it's so unlike watching a Sabres game.

I love seeing Druuuuuuury and Miller back on the same team again Go USA!!!!
Exactly! If only we got to see this from the Sabres. Maybe we would have taken a double digit lead in our division.Originally Posted by BlackMetalNinja

US looks much better than I thought they would. I guess I am used to the crap hockey the B's have played lately.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
I'm sure Ryan Miller is thinking the same thing.Originally Posted by King Bedard

You guys see that the IOC made Miller take the tribute to his cousin (who died of cancer) off of his helmet? Rules are rules, but geez.
