    How about this for McNabb

Swap our 1st with the Eagles.

The value of our pick is 1350, the Eagles (24th overall) is 740.

    That's a differential of 610.

That's more than the 33 pick that the Rams are supposedly offering (580).

    http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php

Still gives us a 1st rounder which could be used on a LT, or DT. We still keep our 2nd rounder. Saves money on the 1st round contract.

Players who may drop to 24:

    Dez Bryant- Unlikely
    Dan Williams- Unlikely
    Jared Odrick
    Charles Brown
    Bruce Campbell- if Oak passes
    Damian Williams
    Brian Price
    Brandon Graham
    Everson Griffen
    Arrelious Benn
    Jermaine Gresham
    Terrence Cody
    Mike Iupati
    Vlad Ducasse

Depends on if the Eagles are interested in anyone that early in the draft. Plus with the whole "McNabb won't sign an extension in Buffalo" news...

Unless that trade idea gets McNabb to change his mind about an extension here, I think it's pointless offering anything for him. I would refuse to give up valuable assets for a one year rental.

Doesnt sound like McNabb has an ounce of interest in coming to Buffalo.

But props to you for that research.. I like your thinking. Good stuff with the value points and everything. In theory, it sure does sound fair.

I would do it if McNabb agreed to a new contract, which was reported he would not.

Id wait to hear something from him before believing that supposed McNabb comment. Hes got local family.

I think we could get him up here to show him around and give him an idea on our plans for the draft. If he hears that we are serious about upgrading the line, maybe that's all it will take. No way to get in his head and know what hes thinking. But, that McNabb comment was speculation, not a quote.

You're right, I'm not 100% sure that McNabb isn't interested in Buffalo. But judging from the reports I've seen, I think it's likely that he won't sign an extension here. If we can swing his opinion, your proposed deal is fairly reasonable because we won't lose picks and this is a deep draft. If I absolutely had to move a pick for him, I'd do a 3rd this year or a 2nd next year.

I'd do that, as long an extension was signed pre-trade.

I'd rather keep the 1st, draft Spiller.
2nd round: Brandon FaFell WR, Golden Tate WR, or Cam Thomas NT.
    3rd and Whitner for McNabb.
And try to get a 3rd from someone for Lynch.

Read any article out there about McNabb and the Bills, and it says that he will not go to Buffalo or Oakland.

It's not happening. Move on everybody!!

not to mention acquiring Mcnabb, while his contract may only be 2years, his leadership and experience can help Trent or Brohm in the long run. that way even after he leaves there can be competition and Q. what better QB to learn and sit behind than Mcnabb.

My point is that these are speculation, not definitive. Id rather hear it from him.

One significant component is that McNabb has little say. The only thing he can do is refuse to resign. But, that could easily be a ploy by him, or his agent, to try to get "his pick" of a team. And, once here, he may find he likes it a lot and decides to resign with us. The Bills would likely want to sign him as part of the move, but they technically don't have to. And, in this version, we simply traded back, we didn't actually lose a pick.

Its actually a safer way to take your time finding the future. We don't need to have a solution from this draft, we could take a few drafts to get the right guy.

This is the crap I'm talking about. You have ZERO confirmation that he won't come here, just an article that states that he said it. I'm not an advocate for him coming here, but please, stop talking like you know something more then everybody. (this isn't just aimed at you, it's more a generalization about some who keep saying this)

Until I hear it from McNabb himself, it's just a rumor.
