Source: Steelers would explore trade for Roethlisberger

The Pittsburgh Steelers have had no dialogue with other teams about dealing embattled quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, but have had significant internal discussions about the matter, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

According to the source, ownership remains dismayed and embarrassed by Roethlisberger's actions in a Georgia college town this offseason and find his string of other offseason incidents troubling. The team has been monitoring the public backlash against Roethlisberger closely.

but who does that leave them with batch? LMAO! Even though he's caused them embarrassment I don't think they trade him without asking for some high tenders. I don't think the steelers want to take a plunge down to mediocrity

Al Davis would take him in Oakland. Pitts could grab one of the kids and rebuild on the fly.

Well.... actually.... his contract is a little smaller than I thought, but im still gonna say no unless we can get him for a couple 2nd's ( one this year, one next )

This is PURE speculation, but if Pitt were to trade him ( I dont buy they would, I just think they have a real pissed off owner right now)

I'd imagine they'd want at least as much as Denver got for Cutler.

Calling Roethlisberger a bum is outlandish. Stupid, yes. But the guy can play the game at a high level. I'd take him in a NY second.

Give up 2 first rounders. Do it, done. Steelers will not trade him, but we should be looking into this atleast. A proven QB, build a line around him. You can say whatever you want about how you think he sucks, or is a bum. He has 2 superbowl rings, is a great passer, and is better than any other option. This is an opportunity you do not pass on. If it is there at all, like I said, they will not trade him.

No thanks. It would cost way too much and he's a giant douche. Plus he gets to play for one of the most well run organizations in all of sports, which I think makes him seem better then he actually is.

Al Davis would be the type to give Pitts the #8 overall and more.

I think a first and a second rounder would get him.

In my opinion, the Rams should explore offering their first overall pick.

St. Louis gets a proven franchise QB. Sure he comes with baggage, but they are desperate and to be quite frank, I don't think that team/front office would even know how to raise a young QB.

Also, Pittsburgh gets a shot at Bradford. You won't have to worry about him getting into trouble with the law.
