You know, I was watching ESPN right then and as soon as I heard it I knew Millen was going to have to issue some sort of apology. I was surprised it was about an hour later on live TV.

That must have been a real comfortable conversation between Millen and the brass at ESPN to have.

Calling your buddy or even yourself a polack is one thing. Using it on a national television broadcast to make fun of another person is another. Its funny that people don't know he's great on ESPN doing college football , was one of the great PSU linebackers of all time and won a superbowl with the raiders. Who cares about his GM days?

The word is a slur, when we begin to weigh what slur is worse than others is when we begin to run into the PC issue that you mention above.
