I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

You must be confusing the Bills and Sabres. The Sabres almost always are near the cap limit.

That's not the point. There is more money to spend, and that allows for anyone to be in the running for these guys.

Ah, I guess I misread his post. Hard to tell these days.

Anyways, I think we can all agree that Tallinder and Lydman will both get raises, so the Sabres would be smart to let them both walk.

Never. I believe last year was the first year of his contract extension. So,
                  a) trading him would be an admission of a mistake by the Sabres' FO, which will never happen
                  b) Quinn and Darcy truly believe that this team will win a Cup with a core of Vanek, Roy, Pominville and Connolly. They are dead wrong and everyone who knows the first thing about hockey can see it- except them.

TSNBobMcKenzie - Sounds like Meszaros is going from Tampa to Philly for a second round pick.

DarrenDreger - Meszaros to Flyers sounds like a done deal.

I wouldn't be so sure on that.

Issue with Connolly is if you're a GM, what do you want to give up for an (injury prone) forward who can be good at times, disappear at times, and makes 4.5 million per year for only one season?

                          TSNBobMcKenzie:
Marty Biron's deal with the Rangers is expected to be for two years at just less than $1 million per year

                          TSNBobMcKenzie:
Actually, make that Biron signing a just a shade under $900K per year.

Guess that's one argument we can stop having.
