    Orlando Franklin, OT, Miami

    Orlando Franklin, Miami
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 318.
    Projected 40 Time:
    Projected Round (2011):

    Preseason Comments:

7/23/2010- Franklin started his career subbing in at Left Guard but has become Miami's starting Left Tackle since the end of last season. In his 09 season he had 51 pancake blocks, and 13 lumberjacks. He also helped to hold Gerald McCoy to a half tackle. People will need to see that he can kick slide effectively against the quicker pass rushers. He looks to be more of a Right Tackle in the NFL. Will face UNC's Robert Quinn Oct 23rd which should test his athleticism for the position. Will also face Ohio States Heyward on Sept 11th and Clemson's Da'Quan Bowers on Oct 2nd.

    Comments:

    9/14/2010- vs. Ohio St.

    1st Qtr:

11:14- blocking a bit high on this play, gets pushed back.
10:29- Gets knocked off his base on this play.
9:26- Gets thrown off his base a bit but recovers quickly to prevent the big play.
8:41- Here again is blown back and stumbles a bit. Needs to use better leverage.
4:27- Athletic and can get to the 2nd level quickly.
3:26- Decent job firing into his block and pushed #98 back on this run play.
2:55- Takes an inside move and gets blown right by for the tackle in the backfield by Heyward.

    2nd Qtr:

4:51- Blown way back on this blitz, he just cant seem to hold up against the bull rush.

    3rd Qtr:
12:40- Nice run block on Heyward to make a nice hole.
7:55- Stepped up his nastiness and is playing with a real mean streak.
7:22- Got pushed back again. Doesn't kick slide.

    4th Qtr:
11:15- Holds up against Heyward but again didnt kick slide and could have been beaten around the edge.
8:03- Blown right back into the pocket and into the QB's face.

Orlando Franklin looked very questionable in this game. He didn't kick slide hardly at all, used bad leverage too often, and was blown back repeatedly. He has the size and athleticism with quick feet, but his technique was questionable at best.

    11/21/2010- vs. Clem (replay)

    1st Qtr:
