    Preseason Comments:

7/2/5/2010- At only 6' 2", teams may shy away from Williams as a potential starting tight end. However, his bulk and strength are very good, as is his receiving ability. As a youth, he suffered through domestic violence. Source: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4226688. D.J. has taken personal strife and made it a force to motivate him. His character is very good. He has become a stronger blocker but hes a receiving tight end for sure. He led the Razorbacks in receptions receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last year. He has very good hands and enough speed to find holes. He has been rumored to have run a 4.49 in March this year... but its unconfirmed. Hes plenty fast enough to play in the NFL and may end up being the fastest tight end at the Combine (if he goes).

    Comments:

    9/28/2010- vs. Bama

    1st Qtr:
2:53- Quick, compact, rugged type TE who is a receiving threat who can get you extra yards through toughness and quickness. Needs to wrap the ball up, it gets jarred loose.
1:25- Gets open and is quick and elusive in the open field.

    3rd Qtr:
11:16- Great catch over the middle. He's a very good receiving threat.
8:25- Fantastic hands, seems to catch everything that goes his way.

D.J. Williams is a gifted receiving TE who is tough to take down in the open field. He's rugged and has great hands.

    1/4/2011- vs. Ohio St.

    1st Qtr:

9:57- Sick display of his athleticism. Gets up from falling down and makes the TD run. He's a great receiving threat.
4:43- Too light on his feet to be much of a blocker.

    2nd Qtr:
8:00- Destroyed by Heyward. Not going to be a reliable blocker.
1:00- Nice catch over the middle for the 1st.

    3rd Qtr:
0:30- Awesome effort on stretching out for the 2 point conversion.

    4th Qtr:
    1:04- Dropped pass.

DJ again showed what a receiving threat he can be. He's a top threat in that way.
