    Preseason Comments:

7/30/2010- Dont'a Hightower is a physical, explosive, athletic, inside linebacker with great potential. He has great size for this position and combines it with decent speed. He blew out ACL, MCL and meniscus in his knee last year which cut his season short. He needs to simply play up to his potential this year and his hype could skyrocket. This is a name that may game much traction throughout the year. He would be wise to say in school at the end of the year, but he may jump.

    Comments:

    9/28/2010- vs. Arkansas

    1st Qtr:

14:52- Sucked up into the line until he recognized the pass.
14:17- Much better diagnosis. In the zone he moved up to cover the flat as he should.
12:31- Mirrored well but only cu eh runner down. Over-pursued a bit.
11:16- A bit tentative in diagnosing this play.
10:43- Gets in on the play but again didn't fly up to make the play.
6:03- Tentative again to get in there and tackle. Wraps up nicely when he finally does make the play.
3:38- #35 is playing with way more intensity than Hightower. Its a bit concerning.

    3rd Qtr:
6:30- Comes on a big blitz. My problem is that he doesn't wrap.

Dont'a did not have a very impressive game at all. He was overshadowed by #35 who plays with the type of tenacity that you want to see. He seems plenty athletic, but just didn't play nasty enough. He was also a bit slow to recognize the pass at times.
