    Preseason Comments:

8/21/2010- Mark Barron is an exciting S prospect due to his ability to lay the lumber and his knack for intercepting the ball. He's good against both the run and the pass. At 6-2, 215, he has the build and frame to be a very good SS in the NFL. He may be considered a bit too tall, but his hitting skills may make teams believe he can play there. Barron is entering his junior year and the quiet player is reportedly starting to become a more vocal leader. Mark played WR and RB in high school.

    Comments:

    9/28/2010- vs. Arkansas

    1st Qtr:

8:57- First time he's really been involved in this game. Gets off his block and drills the receiver on this screen. He certainly isn't shy to make contact. Tries to wrap as well rather than just hitting the guy hoping he will go down. Has very good tenacity and quickness.
4:14- Gets caught out of position but has speed to recover quickly, doesnt have the most fluid hips.

    3rd Qtr:
6:30- Flies into the backfield for a nice sack. He's a solid tackler who wraps up tight.

Mark Barron flies all over the field. He hits hard and plays nasty. He's also a very good wrap-up tackler. He made some nice plays.

As the Crimson Tide's lone returning starter in the defensive backfield, former St. Paul's star Barron now has to "step out of myself a little bit" and direct a young group of defensive backs around him.
