    Demarcus Love, OT Arkansas

    DeMarcus Love, OT, Arkansas
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 315.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.96.
    Projected Round (2011):

    Preseason Comments:

8/23/2010- Demarcus Love has built a name for himself protecting Mallett's blindside. He is considered a reliable blocker for an athletic big man. At this point he appears to be a solid LT prospect.

    Comments:

    9/28/2010- vs. Bama

    1st Qtr:

14-18- Decent short kick slide. Gets on his man and shoves him around disrupting his motion.
11:20- Great job driving and pushing the pile on this run play. Shows nastiness.
10:18- Wide base and does a decent job creating a wall.
6:06- Above average quickness getting to the second level.
4:54- Quick feet and sets a wide base on this pass play.
4:14- Does a nice job taking good angles and closing off the edge on this pass play.

    2nd Qtr:

12:22- Pancakes his man on the right side, lines up at both LT and RT.
1:48- Similar to Carimi in that he fights and claws but may not have the athleticism or kcik slide ability to play on the left side.
1:19- A bit of kick sliding here.
0:42- Recovers nicely from the rush on the edge. However, his angle was a bit poor.

DeMarcus is athletic and plays with a nasty streak. However, he isn't a great kick slider and will give up the corner at times. He has a wide lower body and can get good leverage. He has good quickness and will get to the second level. He may be best suited to play RT where he plays about half the time.

    1/4/2011- vs. Ohio St.

    1st Qtr:

14:43- Took an outside stance and got beat inside by Heyward.
10:54- Has pretty quick feet but is taking strange angles and is out of position.
9:43- Decent job standing Heyward up.
6:44- Fighting it out with Heyward. He is using solid leverage, it's when he's on the move that he suffers and can get beat.
3:59- Nice feet on the right side to maintain the wall and create the pocket.
3:20- Got pushed back on this play, needs to set a bit wider base and sink his hips a bit more.
    0:08- False start

    2nd Qtr:
14:47- Solid job staying with the quick DE on this pass play.
13:25- Feet are quick, but he doesn't use the kick slide and needs work on his footwork.
12:43- Is holding up well to the push from Heyward when it's straight on.
0:33- Really fighting it out with Heyward. Tenacity is impressive in this game.
0:16- Very good job at LT staying with Heyward and and setting the edge.

    3rd Qtr:

12:18- Another good job locking up Heyward.

Love really needs work on his technique. He has tenacity, good foot speed, and uses good leverage. But he takes some poor angles and doesn't seem to kick slide much at all.
