Preseason Comments:
8/25/2010- Cameron Jordan is likely a 3-4 DE in the NFL. He has decent pass rush ability relying more on the bull rush move than spin moves requiring speed and finesse. He is adequate against the run and seems to have good instincts for the ball. His father, Steve Jordan, was a 6 time pro-bowl TE with the Vikes.
Comments:
9/17/2010- vs. Nevada
1st Qtr:
13:58- Blows through the block and makes the tackle in the backfield.
13:16- Again gets through the block to get to the ball-carrier. Lines up at RDE in their 3-4 scheme.
12:02- Again knifes through to get pressure on the QB
10:54- He will fight to get off his blocks. He has average intensity, not above average. He also has only average quickness and strength.
9:04- Again gets off his block for the tackle. He's solid against the run.
4:41- Another decent job shedding and getting to the ball.
1:53- Didn't get off his block on this run.
1:06- Biting hard on these fake hand-offs where the QB keeps it. He has gone after the RB several times.
0:25- Blows through the blocks to get at the QB's feet.
2nd Qtr:
8:54- Didn't get off his block and the RB ran right by him.
3rd Qtr:
11:09- May be getting tired. Isnt playing as quick as he was at the start. Takes the outside edge but the QB cuts back inside.
4:33- Quiet since the 1st half.
4th Qtr:
4:15- Still battling away to get off blocks.
Cameron Jordan plays better against the run than the pass. He's not much of a pass rusher. However, he does a nice job shedding blocks and has a good feel for when to do it. He wraps up well. Jordan plays with intensity but can wear down as the game drags on. He has average strength and can get a push at times.
11/20/2010- vs. Stanford
1st Qtr:
12:20- Huge tackle on Luck. He's rock solid at getting off blocks and making tackles.
3rd Qtr:
4:53- Great job getting off blocks. He's quick and strong.
