The Fins have released Carpenter. He's only 27, and played well in relief in Dallas.
The Dolphins cut him after 5 games due to errors on ST's.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
There is a reason his nickname is "Barbie" Carpenter.
I say put a claim on the guy we need better athletes. I know he is not the answer but he would be better than some of the people we have back there.
You can't tell me he is worse than Ellison. Sign him up.
We already have Ayodele and Torbor. Why not?
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
I'm thinking the bills will pass on the guy and would give Moats the snaps instead.
Never going to happen. This guy is decent at his position and sucks at S/T. We only sign guys who suck at their position and are decent at S/T.
lol sad but trueOriginally Posted by OpIv37
I don't think that's necessarily true under this regime. Unfortunately, most of our guys suck at both.Originally Posted by OpIv37
Get him. Would be a decent addition.
How many teams have now found him to not be good enough? Seems to me that any 'upgrade' with him is likely to be very marginal, and possibly not worth the trouble.

MY WIFE SAID THAT!!!
Just dont see what he brings us in terms of added mistakes that we dont already have from Ellison and Moats?
COMING SOON...

If they do they do but at this point the guy was a first rounder it would not cost anything and we could try him out for a couple of weeks and see if he has anything.
Ellison will not be here next year anyway.
Cowboys, Rams and Dolphins.........goes to show you that 2005 Buckeyes defense was soooooo overrated!
You can call me streetkings
Haven't we been saying this for quite some time now...Originally Posted by DesertFox24

Hawk, Carpenter, Schlegel, Whitner, Salley and Youboty.......all average to below average players.
at the veary least he is a better player than ellison and torbor
XTRA CRISPY XTRA SAUCEY
Parcells/Ireland drafted him in the first round in Dallas. Bad sign that they gave up on him after 5 games in Miami. TD would pick him up, he's one more of the overrated white guys he loved to collect when he was here.
I think he would fit best as an OLB in a cover 2 scheme where he can run around and use his athleticism and just react. He is not good in a 3-4 because he is not physical enough.
