          Well I guess that's why they benched him the other game, so he could rest up to sign that huge contract.....

              He celebrated by throwing 3 INT's
              I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
              "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
              You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
              It was all
              true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
              He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
              mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

                This might be worse than the Kelsay extension.

                      Re: McNabb signs 5 yr, $78 million extension

                      McNabb due only 3.75 million if cut after 2010;

                      Donovan McNabb's five-year extension is worth $70 million and can get to $78.5 million if he is on the active roster for every game in those five seasons. The deal's maximum value is $88.5 million if McNabb leads his team to a Super Bowl win every year.

                          that article is funny that owens calls mcnabb out.

                          it does seem that there are certain guys where the league just expects you to not be surprised byt the contract. mcnabb has never won a championship, has had a lot of injuries the last couple of years where he has missed time and is playing poorly on the redskins.

                          TO has been pretty consistent his entire career. his stats are great, and he's always been in great physical shape. If you read that he signa multi-year deal, you'd think the team is crazy. Regardless of the guaranteed money, just a multi-year deal alone would have you wondering what that team was thinking. but the truth is, he's more effect at his position at his age while being physically in shape to stay in games while mcnabb isn't.

                          mcnabb is a great guy, but he's not a guy you should commit 5 years to.

                            For some reason, the original article said $40 million guaranteed.

                            The statement has now been slightly modified to: "The deal could pay McNabb almost $40 million in guaranteed money."

                            What a stupid statement. If it COULD pay McNabb $40 million, then it's not "guaranteed."
