1st Qtr:
2:45- Great instincts and great job getting up to make the stop. great intensity.
1:31- May have a spin move
1:07- Knifes through traffic for a big drop in the backfield. very quick. former RB.
0:20- Good tackler
2nd Qtr:
12:22- Another fiery, nasty hit for a big tackle
plays special teams as well
9:00- Takes very good angles, doesn't overpursue
8:24- Gets off the big block and still drills up in there for the tackle
7:34- Good quickness dropping into coverage
3:23- Flew up to the right but the run went up the middle
2:59- Flew up and missed the tackle at the feet on the RB spin
2:31- Nasty, flies up and drops the runner... plays nasty
3rd Qtr:
8:18- Fantastic instincts on this play, yet another tackle where he drills up in there and drops the RB
5:19- Huge hit at the goal line. This guy plays with great intensity
0:00- Hit the wrong hole
4th Qtr:
13:51- In on another tackle.
13:15- Another great job mirroring and then getting to the tackle
12:09- Flies up and drills the QB at the line... blows his helmet off
11:30- Have I said his name enough yet? Yet another big stop
Derrell Smith is a very underrated LB prospect. He has very good speed as an ex-RB, he takes good angles, hits hard, and is in on lots of plays. He's good at getting off tackles and a sure wrap up tackler.
