Bills' Gamble is strong, silent type

Defensive back Bryan Scott was like most of the Buffalo Bills when he first met strength and conditioning coach John Gamble back in the spring.

Scott didn't know much about him.

"I was in the weight room," recalled Scott, "and he had picked up, like, 50-pound dumbbells. I said, 'Coach, be careful, I don't want you to hurt yourself.' One of the other coaches was like, 'Do you know what he used to do?' I said, 'What are you talking about?' He said, 'Go home and Google his name.'"

Great idea. Actually perfect idea now that I think of it, because powerlifting builds explosive strength for short periods of time...exactly the type needed in football.

      Only concern is injury.

I hope D. Bell is buying in big time.

I imagine that there are precautions one can take when powerlifting to reduce the inherent risk. I also imagine that if the guy is an expert on the subject, he knows the risks and the best ways to manage those risks.

I don't care if he was part of the Worlds strongest man competition if he doesn't know how to trip players up.
