    Re: Andre Reed HOF Finalist

This should be the year of the receiver...Reed, Brown and Carter all deserve to be in. Sanders and Sharpe will probably be first-ballots. Dawson should go, and may bump one of the wide-outs.

    Re: Andre Reed HOF Finalist

If I recall correctly, Reed was one of the last 1 or 2 that didn't get in last year, beating out many of the others in the final vote.

Still, a lot of first timers are impressive. Just have to wait and see.

    Re: Andre Reed HOF Finalist

of that list, i think the following all deserve to get in...

    Bettis
    Brown
    Carter
    Dent
    Faulk
    Martin
    Reed
    Roaf
    Sanders
    Sharpe

Sabol will get in by default; that will leave a max of 6 for everyone else... throw in the fact the committee doesn't like to send 7, and this is my prediction on who gets in this year.

    Bettis
    Faulk
    Sanders
    Sharpe
    Sabol

Dawson was the dominant center of his time...I don't see how you can leave him off of the list.

no superbowl championships... i include Dawson, and we might as well start to put Ruben Brown up for discussion for the HOF.

You might want to reconsider your original list, then, as there are others that didn't get a super bowl championship.

Comparing Dawson to Brown is just unfair to Dawson.

    Re: Andre Reed HOF Finalist

I guess I don't know why it took forever for Art Monk to get in, and it's taking forever for Andre and Cris Carter to go in. I know the passing game has changed since the illegal chuck rule in 78, but still. These are incredible talents.

Andre Reed deserves the HOF more than Andre Tippett ever did (not to say Tippett wasn't a terrific player, he was, but I can't think of him as a HOFer) But there is a double standard for wide receivers.
