Comments:
1/16/2011- vs. Baylor (replay)
1st Qtr:
9:38- Appears a bit slow to recognize the pass
3:32- Nice job on the sack. Quickly read the pass, flew up into the hole and dropped the QB
2nd Qtr:
13:19- Mirrors pretty well. Appears to take good angles
9:29- Quick recognition and flies up to pressure the QB. Can close fast
3:00- Nice job sliding and closing to make the tackle
Overall, Martez Wilson is more athletic than physical. I wouldn't say he's a hole driller although he does do that and plays with great intensity. Wilson slides well, has good instincts and takes very good angles. He can close in a real hurry and has the athleticism to make big plays as a pass rusher or in the backfield. His speed will make him good in coverage; he shouldn't have trouble staying with most TE's. Will probably run a sub 4.6. Has very good height and decent strength but could bulk up a bit more. May be able to play inside or outside. Appears to the top ILB in a weak class. Probably goes in round 2, maybe even early round 2.
