I hope that's the exact amount she goes for actually. Though I doubt it.Originally Posted by utmhead

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Damn waaaaayyyy to much.
Sorry Draftboy
Making it retro-active isnt fair. So that wont happen but I am thinking about it. This will push players to try and sell rather than just return them. He's obviously going to have to do that at some point now.Originally Posted by BLeonard
The best suggestion I would have would be to set a rule that, if you drop a player into FA, you're not allowed to bid on a card for X amount of days (the number in my head as I type this is three). Had this rule been in place when Sabre put his cards up for FA, he wouldn't have been able to bid today...Originally Posted by King Bedard
Having 3 days not being able to bid and not knowing who's coming up would make someone think... What if their "All World" woman comes up during a time that they can't bid?
On a separate note, might wanna prevent someone from bidding in the FA auction, if they put the card up... I know it didn't happen, but what would have prevented Sabre from bidding $40,001 on Beth and winning her back at half the cap price?
Note: I'm only using Sabre as the example, as he's the one who has sold cards back.
I think everyone that plays this game agrees that it is pretty damn cool, just needs some rules-tweaking, things that could only have been found in trial-and-error.

She could play horsey on my lap any day of the week.

I think there has to be some kind of cap penalty for selling a card back. That's the only thing that would really discourage someone from overbidding to get someone then selling her back and trying to win her in a private auction.
Also, this almost goes without saying, but there should be a rule that if a card is sold back to Bedard, the person who sold it back is ineligible in the FA auction.
definitely ineligible... maybe a week off from auctions, and some sort of cap penalty... maybe 10K.
Damn...5th place. I knew I should have gone higher.
Ouch! That seems like almost too much... A week off seems a bit long and 5k seems more fair... But, in the end, you're the boss...Originally Posted by King Bedard
Maybe an "Either a week off or 10k cap hit" would be more fair? I think any of the mentioned will cut down on someone dropping a big chunk of cash on someone, just to drop them later, though.

I think just a 10 k cap reduction is fair, there has to be a penalty and having so many girls to choose from, a week off is nothing when you have say 20 more weeks to go.
