I think one thing you can take away from this is how close bidding can be though... sure 2 people went nuts... But look at the middle numbers. About 300 can be the difference between you and the person ahead of you.

But I agree with you. Some of these girls are going for way too much. It isn't like any of them are Jessica Alba or Scarlet Johansen or something.
still, even you got her for 41 k. If you get your top girl for 41 and have 139,000 left to play with, that still puts you in pretty good shape.
I think whoever wins this is going to have their top 2 under 90k or so, then adds 3-4 depth girls with the remaining money. I don't think anyone with 80k devoted to one chick is going to win, even if it is Jessica Alba or Scarlet Johannsen.

and Bedard can control how this goes too.
He can wait until November, and not put up the real A listers like Alba and Johannsen until a lot of players have burned through their cap.
Or, he could reward the people who went all-in early by only offering average to slightly-above average girls late in the game in the hopes that quality beats quantity.
Honestly, I think he tries to balance between the two and I have to believe he'll continue to do so... The kicker is, everyone has different tastes, so a girl that I might only bid $30k on, you might be willing to go $60k

I think too many people might be thinking short-term and are more concerned with getting their favorite girl rather than having the best collection at the end.
I can honestly say, I can still name ten girls out there that I would rather have over any of the cards thus far... I'm not one to really "fall in love" with one card. Sure, I've had interest in most all of them, but none are out there that I can't live without.
Another thing I think plays a factor is, some will tend to overbid, just to win TODAY. I'll admit, I'm a little bummed that we're over a month in and I still haven't won one stinking card, but then, I look at the calendar, see we have 5 1/2 months left and about 1/3 of the people playing are already closing in on the cap. I'm not impatient... I can wait a bit. :)

Op is 100% right I do control how this goes. I am trying to keep a balance though, I know who the top girls are going to be and they'll be added into the game on a regular basis.
Someone like Sofia Veraga for example is someone everyone wants... and I will hold her out for quite a while not, to try and screw anyone, but to remind you that you don't want to burn your cap because you have no idea what tomorrow could bring.
