As long as Merriman doesn't test positive for any type of PED, he's done nothing wrong. He wasn't arrested, and didn't do anything illegal. Sure, suspicions and eyes are all on Shawne now, but as long as he's clean, I can't see the NFL doing anything suspension wise.

Posession is a violation I believe, testing positive is also one. I dont think Merriman would be given the benefit of the doubt.

If he was caught he wouldn't be joining the Bills in training camp at SJFC. He'd be in a Jail cell trying to get bail in which point it would be national news by now. Transporting medical supplies of any kind across the US border without proper documentation is a federal offense. In other words, it's a felony. Border police are not just going to write you up, and let you walk away if they catch you. JMO

Aren't anabolic steroids controlled substances meaning their possession would be illegal? If so, he would have been cited or booked, right?

I don't understand how they would just let him go if that was the case. Especially if they were under the assumption that he was "smuggling" them into the country.

I hope you're right, but Goodell has shown that there doesn't actually need to be an arrest or conviction of any kind for him to hand out suspensions. If he believes that Merriman has been involved with steroids in some manner recently, there's nothing really to stop him from dropping the hammer.

I hope this all just goes away soon.
