So, I'm coming up and over to Buffalo for the home opener. Need recommendations for wings (don't like them too saucy like Duffs). I'd like to go to the Anchor Bar but it's probably going to be packed, right?? And Beef on Weck.
Any other Buffalo favorites I should try? Also, is a side trip to Nick Tahoe's worth it?

Wings - Village Inn on Grand Island is incredible but a little bit of a travel depending on where you are staying.
Beef on Weck - Schwable's in West Seneca.

If you want the garbage plate experience then Nick Tahoe's is worth it. Hopefully you know what a garbage plate entails though.

Most places in Buffalo have good wings
If you are staying near the stadium Bar Bill in East Aurora isn't all that far away.
Even Danny's South, which is right by the stadium have decent wings.

Pizza Bocce, Leonardi's, Tony's, or LaNova is what Im doing.
Wings DUFFS there is nothing oike it, just ask for them NOT WET, thats how my wife orders them and they are not dripping......I like them WET......and not just my wings....

Grovers actually has some of the best New England Clam Chowder I have ever had, too, and it is consistently good. It's only available on Fridays, I think, as one might imagine. Burgers are also top notch.
Charlie the Butcher for beef on weck - definitely agree with previous posters that it is the best.
