Evernham and Gillett once had a good relationship, according to Evernham. But the relationship soon soured. “In reality, Gillett came in and didn’t put any money into the company and took on more debt and instead of having more money to work with I had less.”
You'll get big promises from the guy that won't be fulfilled.
I question whether the other owners would approve the sale.
The NFL doesn't want to see owners in financial trouble owning their teams. It isn't good for the brand.Comment

I live in Montreal, and know that he sold the team (Habs) because hge had loans to pay off for Liverpool. He is not a bad owner, just question his cash flowComment

After the Liverpool disaster with Tom Hicks, I'd be very, very, very nervous about the situation if it were to materialise. The only saving grace is that Tom Hicks was the real villan in the Liverpool situation, but Gillett didn't exaclty come out of it smelling of roses.Comment

He filed for Chapter 11 protection in 1992. I doubt he'd pass the NFL sniff test.
