One could argue that 2 out of the 3 goals were soft last night.
We lack toughness, heart and the will to win. Too many of our guys are unwilling to get their hands dirty or their noses bloody.
Unfortunately, all of Pegula's money can't buy heart. But we could get tougher by inserting Weber in the lineup and calling up Kassian. Right now, we have far too many offensive defensemen and not enough physical defensemen, and not enough forwards that are willing to mix it up.
Long term, I'm not sure of the answer. This mix of players has little chemistry, and Lindy can't seem to build a fire under them. But it's early, and things might improve.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
