So I get to this to WGR55 at work these days and this is big for me since I didn't get to listen for years since I haven't lived in Buffalo for 25 year. I love listening to the Howard Simon show in the morning...I can leave Shoop and Bulldog but it's something to listen to.

but I digress. So yesterday they were talking about Derek Roy and how he is a point per game player BUT how they aren't very good when he is in the line up. They went on a tear last year AFTER he went down with a season ending injury. I believe they were talking to Hamilton yesterday and he was talking to a Sabres veteren last year right after Roy was injuried and the unamed veteran made the statement to the effect of "Watch us take off now, we are going to start winning" which they did. Simon and Jeremy were admanant on getting Roy off this team for the next 5 minutes.

My point is that this makes it sound like Roy is a locker cancer. It does sound like Roy has to go. Even though he is a consistent scorer, Does Roy need to traded? I think he needs to be traded because he is part of that "core" that Darcy is in love with.

Their contracts make them less desirable, at least in Stafford's case.

And if Roy really is a locker room cancer, you can be sure the word is out around the league. There are enough ex-Sabres that played with him distributed around the league to ensure that it's common knowledge by now.
