    Exclamation 2012 Goals and Tracking

    2012 starts in a few days - so here's to a fresh start, re-dedication, or continuing maintenance!




    My goals are very similar to to last year.

    1. Avoid major sidelining injury.

    2. Continue to run.

    3. Strength train (for toning) 3-4 times a week.

    4. Eat healthier.

    First time posting in the goals thread, but here's to a new year, and new goals

    1. lose some weight, about 20lbs
    2. increase core strength. i'll be doing alot of snowboarding this winter, so that should help kick start that.
    3. like no major injuries
    4. get back to swimming

    1. Eliminate all tobacco from my lifestyle!
    2. Lose about 15 lbs
    3. Log 400 miles on the road (or treadmill if necessary)
    4. Compete in at least 4 races (5K-half marathon)
    5. Kayak approx 300 Hrs

    in buffalo we're about 34 inches below normal, so it seems to be a problem everywhere, and locally it hasnt been cold enough for the ski resorts to even make snow

    down about 4lbs... havent hit the slopes once, and doesnt look like i'll be able to either, no snow

    So far so good for me! I still could improve my nutrition, but it is better than it was lol.

    WOOOHOOO!!!! Mid way through the year and I'm still doing well! I've added a second HM to the books as well as Ragnar Chicago (198 mile relay race).

    I did the ragnar in florida a fews years ago. IT WAS AWESOME. Such a great experience! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

    On another note. I've added a goal to my plan just last night. I'm trying to raise $911 by running 125 miles between now and September 11th. All donations are split evenly between two great charities; Active Heroes and The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

    I had a blast! I posted a picture of my medals (yep plural) that I got on Saturday. I'm also considering doing one more this year (to bring the total to three lol)... I'm thinking about Vegas in November. I also have another HM coming up.

    Overall I was successful. I managed to avoid sidelining injury until 3 weeks ago. My nutrition still needs work, but I am doing much better.

    I finished the year with 2 Ragnar Relays (Chicago & Great River), 4 HM's and a "virtual 100K". The 100K was tracked online and didn't have to be completed in a single run, since it was a benefit for kids with Autism we had a couple months to complete our chosen distance (there were several different distances to choose from).

    Just noticed I missed the month of October for 2011. October was 87.75 for a year total of 1601.28
