    Bills sign Scott McKillop

Yeah, when I read it, my first thought was "who?" too...

    Anyway: https://twitter.com/#!/smckillop56/status/154282215042326528

Thanks for everyone's support can't wait for next season, glad to be given another opportunity. Excited to be back with Coach Wannstedt!!

Here's his NFL Draft Profile: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profil...illop?id=71395

sounds like a backup ILB/Special Teams guy. Nothing to get all excited about, but has played for Wannstedt and is most likely a "low risk, high reward" type deal.

No the Bills staplemark is take guys who play above average as second fiddle players and expect them to start here. See Brad Smith, Drayton Florence (as pretty sure he was regulated to nickelback before we signed him), Craig Nall and Larry Triplett to name a few. So don't be surprised when we let Stevie go to Chicago and bring in a guy like Robert Meachem, who was a 1st Round pick and a Super Bowl winner with the Saints but thus far shown to be nothing more than an average 3rd/2nd WR in the NFL.

if I remember correctly he was a LB with Pitt when Wanny was there and led the nation in tackles.

Hopefully Wanny snagging him up like that isn't just a favor to a kid he liked while he was coaching in Pitt. Maybe he knows the potential the kid has and thinks he can get him to reach it. WTF am I talking about, Bills players don't reach potential until the leave the team.

Tore his ACL in 2010 with the 49ers, where he was a 5th round pick in 2009 and backup at ILB in their 3-4. Was cut in camp this year. Another year removed from surgery he should be in better shape.

                          Re: Bills sign Scott McKillop

Still a relatively unknown player as of the beginning of his junior season, McKillop enjoyed one of the most productive seasons ever by a Pitt defender, finishing with 151 total tackles, the third highest single-season total in Pitt history. The centerpiece of a unit that is seventh nationally in total defense, yielding just 297.67 yards per game, McKillop also compiled 9.0 tackles for loss, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, an interception and seven pass breakups. McKillop built a national reputation in 2008 and was a leading candidate for the country's top defensive awards. He recorded 126 tackles, 16.5 TFLs, four sacks and one interception, and earned 2008 All-American honors by the Football Writers Association of America and CBS Sports.

Woo hoo!!! Another big hole filed. Now if we can find a CB, pass rusher and a couple WR's off someones practice squad we'll be all set!
