A few different people do these, here is one. This guy is pretty good. Not a big surprise the Bills would not get one.

that's because they haven't lost anybody who is/was worth a ****. here's another reason...
2. Players earning minimum salaries do not count.

Brad Smith's deal cancels out Whitner
Neither Kirk Morrison, Tommy Thigpen, or Brad Smith contributed much for Buffalo. But signing two of them cost the Bills a 3rd rounder for losing Posluszny.

Net loss must be > Net gain both in contract value and numbers
We lost Whitner and Poz....we gained B. Smith, Thigpen
That to me means a net loss w.r.t contract value.........thus, we should get a 6th or 7th

If this is true, this compensatory pick thing is the dumbest thing the NFL does. They lost Poz to pretty good money. They should be getting at least a 4th.
We'll get one, probably a seventh.
We signed Thigpen, Barnett, and Smith those three will cancel out Poz and Whitner. This shouldnt be a surprise to anybody.
If we do, it'll only be a 7th rounder, so no big deal tbh.
About the only thing that will help out, is how far the 49ers go, as I believe there's some factor in respect of teams' success who gets the FA. I know it's mostly contract sizes and net loss/gain amount, but I do believe there are one or two other factors.
Barnett doesn't count in comp formula because he was released by the PackersOriginally Posted by DraftBoy
so for losing poz and Whitner we get nothing once again the nfl screws the Bills
lets go BUFFALO lets go BUFFALO
With the strange free agency period they had last offseason, I'd be interested to know what counts and what doesn't. IIRC, Morrison was signed pretty late and I would have guessed he didn't count.

- Nicholas Cummings
Poz - 6 years, $42 million
Whitner - 3 years, 11.5 mil
Thigpen - 3 years, 11 mil
Smith - 4 years, $15 mill
Barnett - 3 years, $12 mil (if his even counts.)
Loss - 9 years, 53.5 mil
Gain - 10 years, 38 mil
Not sure I understand this point DB. $15 million is a big difference. Also, the fact that the comparison is offense to defense, that should matter. This league needs to get rid of this, it is basically set up to give extra draft picks to teams that draft good and win.

Barnett does not count since he was cut.Originally Posted by DraftBoy
