Thanks for the reference to a nice article. He and Paul MaGuire had a restaurant in Kenmore for a while, in the disco days.Originally Posted by Night Train

Sestak and Maguire's was at Cleveland and Harlem.
It eventually became the Oz.
There were two locations, Historian. You had to wear a leisure suit to go to the Cle/Har one - to fit in with the neighborhood 'ski's...those wild 'n crazy guys.Originally Posted by Historian

I agree with your sentiments. With one exception the best defensive player in the Bill's history. Had his career not been shortened he might have exceeded Bruce.Originally Posted by Night Train
I loved Sestak. A few years ago when I went to visit my grandmother's grave, I was surprised to see his big, fancy headstone in the same small cemetary as her's. In South Wales, NY, where I grew up.

Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
While Butch Byrd was my favorite as a kid, you had to love the Sestaks, Doles, Gilchrists and Dubenions (sp) . Those sixties teams created my love for the game.

I agree. I really loved Elbert "Golden Wheels" Dubenion.Originally Posted by sdbillsfan2

The 2nd location was on Elmwood between Henderson and Fowler in Kenmore, about a 2 minute walk from my house. We ate there often and it was a good place to hang.Originally Posted by Historian
I met Sestak many times and his autographed pic still hangs in the side room of my house, next to those of George Saimes, Jack Kemp & Billy Shaw.
For some of us, this is how we first loved football and those AFL games were some of the best memories of my childhood. I can still smell those peanuts and hear that echo pa system from the old rockpile at Jefferson & Best. Walking up the ramp to the seats our family had, 20 rows up on the 40 yard line. Had to see Lance Alworth and the Chargers every time they came. And there was Sestak, bringing the heat off the end.
The best years of our lives...
