Not only are the Jays not hitting, but they're 4 of 9 in save opportunities. I guess the one thing you can take from that is that we're 10-10 and playing about as poorly as possible.

A sixth of the way through the season the Jays are 5th in the majors in batting(expected).. 15th in pitching(a little better than expected) 29th in fielding(worse than I would have expected)

So far I would say they are fortunate to be 15-11 given there pitching is average and there fielding is bad

That's a little broad. Our starting pitching has been outstanding, our bullpen has been horrible, and our hitting has been well below average despite the amount of runs we've scored.

Starting pitching has been by far our best area.

Re: Official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Well Brett Lawrie will be getting some time off.. Those 2 called strikes on him were absolutely brutal.. I think Bill Miller the ump had it in his mind to call strike 3 on Lawrie after he probably thought Lawrie showed him up on the strile 2 call by walking to 1st base thinking he had a walk..But the stupid ump took so long to call strike 2 on the 3-1 pitch why wouldn't Lawrie toss his bat away and start walking to 1st..

The ump was so terrible in his strike calls I couldn't help but feel a little happy he was pelted with beer from the fans after the game

Re: Official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Another bad call last night this time in favour of the Jays.. Can
t remember the inning or the name of the Yankee runner but the Yankee runner clearly touched 2nd base before Kelly Johnson did and was called out on the force.. I guess it was a nice win but are the Yankees even a good team? The Jays need to start beating the Rays..Orioles..Rangers and historically the last 5 years the Jays lose consitently to good teams

Re: Official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Jays blow a 2 run lead in the 13th to the Rangers.. The bullpen currently has nothing but dead and tired arms and can't get anyone out..The Jays are reeling...

Re: Official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Swept the Orioles at home.. The bullpen was leaky at times in the series but Lawrie and Rasmus hit the ball well which is a good sign.. I still don't think the Jays have enough pitching top to bottom to grab one of the wildcard berths.. They have 3 good prospects in Triple A (D'arnaud...Gose..Hechevarria) all position players.. AA might have to consider trading one or 2 of them for pitching or trade established players at the major league level for more pitching..

If reports are true this team is about to get A LOT different.

Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, and Mark Buerhle all reported to be headed north.
    COMING SOON...

Re: Official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Loria should be disciplined or have MLB take the team over until a buyer can be found. How can Marlins function as a major league team? How are they ever going to sign another free agent who has another option?

No agent will ever trust them again.

i heard this on the radio this morning, and even though i'm a yankee fan, i am optimistic about these guys going to Toronto, seeing as their AAA affiliate is in Buffalo

Re: Official 2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

From what I understand, Boston was looking to sign a couple of the players.

Instead, Alex Anthopoulos pulled the rug out from under the Red Sox. And he may very well have changed the makeup of the AL East, if not baseball, for some time to come. (Presuming, of course, that everything plays out as expected.)
"I've always believed that in the United States there's a big difference between conservative and stupid. But, boy, it's getting harder by the minute to prove that one."
