    2002 Draft

I was just watching 'Top Draft Busts since Y2K' & a number of the players were from 2002 Draft. Look at how horrible that draft was particularly in the Top10:

    2002 - ROUND 1
SEL # TEAM PLAYER POSITION SCHOOL
1 Houston Texans. David Carr QB Fresno State
2 Carolina Panthers Julius Peppers DE North Carolina
3 Detroit Lions Joey Harrington QB Oregon
4 Buffalo Bills Mike Williams T Texas
5 San Diego Chargers Quentin Jammer DB Texas
6 Kansas City Chiefs Ryan Sims DT North Carolina
7 Minnesota Vikings Bryant McKinnie T Miami (Fla.)
8 Dallas Cowboys Roy Williams FS Oklahoma
9 Jacksonville Jaguars John Henderson DT Tennessee
10 Cincinnati Bengals Levi Jones T Arizona State

    * only Peppers is great. Henderson is good. Roy Williams is poor for where he was drafted. Tackles are ok at best. QBs & Williams are a total bust.

Rest of 2002 draft only highlited a few great first round players: D. Freeny & E. Reed

One of the worst drafts all time talent wise. Go figure that's the one year we get a top 5 pick.

I remember going to TC that year, my buddy Dan couldn't get Williams to sign his helmet. I guess it was no big loss.

Our pick that year was the biggest bust the Bills ever picked in the first round.

I'm not so sure about that. Before most of your time, there were Richie Lucas and Walt Patulski, and more recently - as Michael82 points out - Erik Flowers. And just a few years ago, Aaron Maybin.

We have quite a record through the years of serious first round busts.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

LOL, that helmet is probably worth more money without Mikes signature on it.
