    I think I agree. Our 2014 UFA class is shaping up so that we should be able to extend him. What I mean is that we don't have several important players with contracts up in just that year.

    This thread has less to do with who we should keep and more to do with what each players true value is as far as on the field performance.

    Gilmore has not shown enough to be in the must keep category IMO. We know we'll keep him, and we all think he will end up in that category. But, I don't see him there as of right now by any means.
    He simply must be kept in the short term because if you just dumped him after a season of play you make the organization look inept at scouting talent. Not that we haven't done that in the past by drafting guys like Maybin, McCargo, etc...but still.

    Again, It's not whether or not we should keep him. I didn't say he's a must go afterall.

    It's whether he can be considered a must keep based on his on the field play.

    And I can't see that he's shown us he's so good that he's a must keep.
