Hey it's a savvy move.
Soda is just empty calories.
I saw some study a few years ago where if you cut soda out of your diet altogether without changing any other habit (eating or exercise) you'll lose on average 15lbs.
Pretty sweet deal and all you gotta do is not drink fizzy corn syrup!

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately lol), to be successful - I had to cut out some foods I REALLY REALLY like (PIZZA) as well. Certain foods really trigger the pepsi craving for me. So, I may repeat this challenge again - just to keep my consumption in moderation. LOL

I made it!!!

And how do you feel?
For me, I'm somewhat carb sensitive. I never knew I had a problem with it until I did P90X and cut carbs out for a month. The weight just shed right off. Now anytime I want to cut weight, I just don't eat carbs for a month or two.
I find that the more I eat them, the more cravings I get for them and the less I eat them, the less I even think about eating them.
Did it work the same for pop?

I never got that "surge of natural energy" that most people talk about (I think that is in their heads lol). Sitting in classes (lectures) has been brutal. I had to avoid all kinds of other foods, because those foods (like pizza) caused massive cravings for pepsi (at that point - it was mental, since I wasn't having headaches).
I had pepsi on day 25 and although it tasted really sweet... it tasted good. I'm going to try to keep my consumption low - but I'm not going to give it up entirely (at least not at this point).
Though I'd try this out starting January 1st. So far I don't miss soda at all. May consider giving it up completely If I still feel the same on day 24.

btw, why 24 days? It's more than 3 weeks, but less than 4 weeks or a month. Seems like an odd time period to choose.

Made it the full 24. Didn't have any major cravings, and the times I was handed a soda by friends or family, I was able to say no thanks. Never drank so much water in my life and that Mio mix isn't to bad either.
I know regular soda isn't great for anyone, but how about diet soda? Is that just as bad?
