    Sibylle Baier

Interesting story of a music artist who's son released the tapes 30 years later. Good sound but sad.

Iggy is the best. The original Punk.

I love all that gritty early punk.... MC5, Iggy, the Damned, Richard Hell, Buzzcocks etc.

I kind of straddled early rock and the punks, but always enjoyed most of both, but I'm a little older that you.

I thought Punk came out at the right time as Rock Music was suffering from interminable solos and musical masturbation. The progs (even though I like those bands) were turning the stage into symphony halls with pretentious posturing.

The Punks got everyone back to rock roots with their stripped down styles.

I was spinning records and tending bar at a club when Punk hit. I bought "Never Mind The Bollocks" and the first Clash LP. Unfortunately, most of the clientele didn't warm to it as they were a blend of traditional rock, Soul/Motown and Blues fans. It was hard to clear the club at closing time, many almost refused to leave and some had to be physically forced. It was a pain after working all night. The Sex Pistols solved our problems....I put on "Anarchy In The UK" and it cleared the club before the song finished. I still love Johnny Rotten to this day just for that reason!!!!

My daughter's best friend is Johnny (Lydon) Rotten's cousin.

He visits every time he's in town.

Man, I played this on a good pair of stereo headphones with my eyes closed I was right back in 1974. Awesome.
