Global warming is a scare tactic to try and push political agenda.

The Earth goes in warming and cooling cycles.

The earth does have cycles in which it cools and then warms up again, and it has been doing so for millions of years. And it will continue to do so. That's not to say that human activity can have an effect too. It may be that both are going on at the same time at present, and it's nearly impossible to quantify exactly which is the more significant contributor, or even if both are pushing in the same direction. But the difficulty of pinning things down completely does not mean we're innocent of doing damage.

the weather channel was saying hybrid storms like sandy could become more frequent. and sandy, as a hurricane was weak. they think another huge hybrid storm could hit new york city again soonish, and be MUCH worse.

The link you provided to skeptical science re: MWP has the first two charts using '61-'90 average as the benchmark. Several other charts from previous links, and others from different resources (Gore's IT) use it also. Do you know why?

Probably just to show how it compares to more contemporary numbers. The point still stands that this idea that skeptics have about what the medieval warming was really about is wrong - like most of their information regarding climate science.

Sure sure...and this is the whole problem with AGW denialists...no coherent hypothesis. Some think there is no change. Some think it's cooling. Some think it's warming but caused by solar activity. I bet some think it's caused by aliens. And I'm pretty sure ticat and many of the other denialists here have promoted some of the above and more at one time or another.

On the other hand, aside for some details, the mainstream AGW theory is quite coherent.

Please do not call them "skeptics". To be a skeptic, you have to be willing to change your opinion based on new evidence presented. They aren't. They latch onto any spurious blog or pseudo-journal paper so long as it is critical of mainstream theory. It's not about science to them. It's political and ideological.
