The earth does have cycles in which it cools and then warms up again, and it has been doing so for millions of years. And it will continue to do so. That's not to say that human activity can have an effect too. It may be that both are going on at the same time at present, and it's nearly impossible to quantify exactly which is the more significant contributor, or even if both are pushing in the same direction. But the difficulty of pinning things down completely does not mean we're innocent of doing damage.
