    Bull****.

It's time to implement similar restrictions on the rest of the public representatives.

Re: Now to overturn that silly "only two term" ammendment

My crazy tea party cousin of my dad(who has been on SSD for about half of his life and only worked about 5 years or so in his life) said a couple of years ago that Obama will be in office for at least 20 years because he was going to make an executive order to get rid of the term limits and elections altogether so this very well could happen.

He said nobody will care about the backlash because most of the country will be collecting a "government check with free health care" and they won't want to give it up. He said Obama said it himself that he will be in office a very long time.

How ironic knowing somebody who is a tea bagger that rarely ever worked in their life and eventually went on SSD in his 30's and has been on it the past 25+ years since bitching about people collecting government checks and getting free health care. He has physical limitations but there are jobs he could do. Talk about the normal "it's the other guy" line of thinking by many of the Republicans. I swear them are the ones that bitch the most. It's like they are afraid that they might lose something because somebody else is getting something.

    Bull**** to that.

You know how you get someone out of office if they tick you off enough?

    You vote.

"Term limits" are just a wussy way for you to avoid doing your civic duty, as distasteful as it may be at times.

I think it should be bumped to 3 so Obama can serve through 2020 then ol Bill and Hillary can get us to 2040

I think some people on my FB feed would literally hang themselves.

he honestly believes that a president would attempt to override a constitutional amendment with an executive order, and the judicial branch and the people would just let him do it?

Why not? The people let the right wing republican oligarchies steal (overthrow) the elections in 2000 and 2004.

The f****** Supreme Court , for the first time in it's history, hands down a decision in 2000 giving the election to Bush, with the caveat that it cannot be used as precedent in the future!!!! WTF Seriously?? That's what they do! Every decision they make sets precedent!!!
And nary a peep from the people or so called liberal press!!!

Don't agree. The way to limit terms is to electoral reform.

Georgia is so gerrymandered that of 55 state senate races, something like 40 went unopposed. Similar for the congressional seats. The idiot that a few weeks ago called the big bang and evolution "lies from the pit of hell" had no opponent.

Looking back, I'm ashamed of my lack of support for Bill Clinton in my younger, more impressionable days.

Knowing what I know now, I'd blithely make him king. The flowing robes, the crown, the scepter; don it all.

I'm guessing that is a bit tongue-in cheek, but this jackalope is on the House Science Committee. I'm more concerned about his influence on policy.

I think every family has one of these, I swear.

I have a cousin...39 years old. I love her dearly, despite the fact that she has been railing against Obama since she found her way onto facebook.

    "He gives away this."
    "He gives away that."
Et Cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

    She never went to college.

In fact, she herself has never worked a day in her life.

    Never.

    Ever.

    Not even part time.

Now she has a built in excuse, a daughter. So she's a "stay at home Mom."

My Uncle died of a coronary pretty young, so she's been getting Social Security since she was 16. When my Grandpa died, (Since my Uncle's death pre-dated his) she split one third of my Grandpa's estate with her brother. Then, my Aunt gave her their house, so as to not lose it before she filed for bankruptcy.

And yet, everyone else is a "moocher", and "lazy".

And Obama gives them carte blanche.

    It staggers the imagination.

i say 6 years and no second term. when you are elected for your first term, you already begin campaigning for your second term and it's bull****.
