BBD: GM Buddy Nix Speaks On QB Prospects

    http://www.buffalobillsdraft.com/201...-qb-prospects/

Earlier today Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix spoke with the Howard Simon Show on WGR (Listen Here) and talked specifically about the Quarterback position and what he would be looking for in a QB of the future. Nix who is known as an overly candid GM may have revealed to us more about the way the Bills view this QB class v. how the analysts see it.

Matt Scott should, at the very least, be on the list.

Tyler Bray and EJ Manuel both fit the profile. I think Manuel is a bit more mobile. I know you think Bray is going to stay is school.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

A wise man doesn't waste effort telling the world he's wise. If it's true, it will be self-evident.

Re: BBD: GM Buddy Nix Speaks On QB Prospects

So if there isn't an Andrew Luck-type prospect, we will probably look somewhere else? Sigh...
Don't be surprised if Nix passes on QB again until mid to late in the draft.

I agree with the concept of "Best Player Available."
But Nix refuses to take into account "Supply and Demand."

There has to be at least ONE quarterback that Nix believes can be good in the NFL. If he looks like he will be taken before our pick, sell the farm to trade up. If he's a 3rd round prospect, take him in the 1st just to be sure. Bottom line is, we won't be a winner again until we get the right guy under center.

    My opinion.

I wish he would recover from the head injury and get back on the field so I can see him play a few more times, but he looks solid.

I like EJ, and wouldn't mind us taking him, at all.

Re: BBD: GM Buddy Nix Speaks On QB Prospects

What I find funny, is that the traits that Nix is looking for in a QB, his current QB doesn't possess any of them except for maybe "Intangibles" and I'm starting to wonder about that. Fitz may have the respect of his teammates, but I'm sure there's more than a few that would say different in private and wouldn't mind at all if he was sat down. Nix also wants a QB who can anticipate a WR’s separation and throw to him in the open, that certainly is not Fitz. In an offense that according to Gailey is designed to get the ball to the receivers in stride and let them run after the catch, we have a QB that continues to make his wideouts either dive to the ground, jump high or reach behind them to catch a pass (or just miss them completely). I've been fully behind this team for over 40 years and I still am, but if they refuse to get a QB in round 1 of this upcoming draft, I'm going to have to reconsider about how much I continue to invest in this team.

I like him, but Im not sure he's a Top 10 QB at this point.
