They're actually not too far off. It was not Hurricane Sandy that finished them off. It was Mike Brown, a Republican, criticizing the Obama admin for acting too quickly in response to the hurricane. If Brown simply goes away people don't think back as readily to Katrina and Bush's abysmal failure, but alas he couldn't do that so he opens his trap and links Bush's failure to Romney. If that wasn't bad enough for the GOP, Obama gets praised by one should be considered a GOP frontrunner in 2016, NJ Governor Christie, and he gets a photo op of him working across the aisle to help the American people. Obama looked like a leader, and Romney looked like he was doing half assed things to get elected. So in short, while Sandy didn't cost Romney the election, the GOP response did.
