How come he never produced here? Further proof that coaching is the problem?

Good for Dwan, I hope he continues to have a great season. Yes, coaching is a huge problem for this team.

I was adamant about keeping him, but everyone insisted that he wasn't a fit for this scheme, was too expensive (meanwhile we have plenty of cap room), and that he wasn't very good. For whatever reason, fans thought Johnson was the better player. May be a better pass rusher but I'd take Dwan any day of the week over Spencer Johnson. Never liked cutting him, he was good depth. Good thing we carried two kickers to start the year!
He didn't do much in Baltimore either...is their coaching bad too?
Zero correlation in this case.
3-4 DE's responsibility is to eat space and blockers not get after the QB or make tackles.

He was actually a rotational player on a pretty good defense his first couple years. He looked to be developing into a promising young player when he hurt his back and needed spine fusion surgery. That caused him to miss time and put his career in jeopardy, but he returned and ended up a starter on a pretty good defense in Baltimore his last year there. Based on that, the Bills have him a 4 Year/$18M deal.
Edwards isn't a superstar, but he is a solid veteran inside player and could have helped this team.

what a surprise. just add his name to the long list of players who do well everywhere else but Buffalo.

This is a reflection of the "bottom of the barrell" philosophy that the Bills have had to deal with in the selection of coaches.
