A Facebook thread about secession....
Bridget Black Where do I sign?
David Owczarzak Amen....where's the NY petition? I can get quite a few signatures!
Danielle Resseguet Look at us Cajuns!!!
Geoff Offermann Have at it...have fun trying to set up your energy grid, your defense, etc. We won't miss ya.
Brenda Glass yeah you will. you'll come belly crawling across our borders trying to get asylum from the tyrant you put in office. I'll vote "no ", you go enjoy the rotten fruits of your labor.
Brenda Glass And Texas has already exceeded the required number of signatures since Nov 9 that mandates a response from your dictator.
Geoff Offermann Tyrant. Get real. You people are ridiculous. We went through 8 years of Bush and watched him tank the country. You can handle 8 of Obama. Quit crying.
Geoff Offermann LOL...how stupid. Obama doesn't have to respond to any online petition.
Geoff Offermann By all means...keep on listening to the people that led you to the brink. Texas...LOL...swing state by 2020. Hurry!
Brenda Glass where will you go? back to new york? better get out of Georgia. Oh, and your hallowed mainstream media is reporting what i just told you. but, in a way, you're right. Our Constitution says the President has to respond. Since your dictator hasn't followed any rules yet I doubt he will give this one a second thought.
Brenda Glass Who is obama gonna blame the last four years on? Bush didn't run the deficit up to 16 trillion dollars. That was your boy did that. And he's not done yet.
Geoff Offermann Trust me...Georgia isn't going anywhere. And I hope I don't need to explain that Texas isn't either. Not that I wouldn't love for Texas to secede. The 3 worst presidents in living memory is all I can take from that hell hole.
Please quote from the Constitution where it says that the president has to respond to an online petition. You are so hopelessly without any clue, it's embarrassing that I should call you countryman. Secede already.
Lets' just get over your sillly talking points. MSM? Gee...who cares? Do watch them? I sure don't. I thought Fox was the most watched. More than the others combined. But the whining just doesn't stop. Pathetic.
Blame for the last four years? You mean the -9% annualized GDP growth in FY 2008Q4...worst since the Great Depression? Or how about the $1.4 trillion deficit...worst ever. Two wars? Deregulation madness that led to the housing crash? All on Bush and Congress (I acknowledge Democratic complicity in it all).
Geoff Offermann Republicans preach fiscal control but every Republican president, at least since Reagan, has left with higher deficits than he came in with. Clinton, that supposed big government socialist, has been the only one to walk the walk throughout his term and actually had a surplus. Obama, the tyrant LOL, has reduced the deficit by 20%.
All of this of course is not within a vacuum. Presidents write budgets and Congress approves them. Clinton gave credit where credit was due to the Republican congress.
But why is that? Why do Republicans drive deficits up and still get to preach it at election time?
Geoff Offermann Regardless of all this crap, the GOP had better change. I am a staunch Democrat, but I know from experience, with both sides gaining the upper hand, what is wrought by unilateral power. The GOP better come around on some key issues and some of them are going to hurt. We already see immigration coming on the radar. That's the big one. That will forestall AZ and TX going blue.
But what about gay marriage and abortion? That will take a while. The Republicans can continue to use that one to get the core to the booth. But it's just a matter of time before those issues become yesterday's news.
