Re: Patti! Is this a reliable resource?

Thanks a lot, BF1, I notice there is a GIANT red circle hovering directly over my house in central Florida!

I think specific risks are more concentrated in coastal areas, and ALL areas can experience a natural disaster. So I certainly wouldn't move to Nevada or Wyoming to lessen my risk, but I WOULD stay away from the coasts. I think the lesson is that we are all vulnerable to natural disasters, and CERTAINLY to supply disruptions, no matter where we are, and should prepare accordingly. That means we should all be aim to withstand about a month without electricity or groceries. But in general, prayer and a spiritual life (not necessarily anything "religion" or "church-related") are more important than maps, or even supplies.

Thanks again for the Freak-Out, BF1!

BTW my brother up in Yorktown Heights lost power but has a backup generator. My other brother in Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown didn't lose power but he has lots of backup supplies. I hope everyone in the area gets fully restored soon, and the people without shelter get some relief.

    Patti

California still looks pretty good to me. At one point in my life I wanted to live in Dallas. Glad I changed my mind on that one!

There's not a stone in my heart I've left unturned
Not a piece of my soul that I ain't searched
The only answer I found for all this hurt
Is there ain't not answer here on earth

Awesome. Where we are is pretty solidly green, lest some heavy snow storms once in a while but we can stay inside the house that isn't going to get blown away. Plus global warming is lessening that risk for us too.
