    X's Draft Posturing V1.0

Way early. And free agency can change the list of needs going into the draft. But, here's some thoughts:

    1. Te'o (ILB) may go in the first 10 or even 5 picks
    2. Scouts Inc has 15 DL going in the 1st round at this point (including juniors who may not declare)
    3. Scouts Inc has 5 OL going in the 1st round as well
    4. Scouts has 1 CB going in the top 15; Millner (Bama)
    5. Jarvis Jones (OLB) may go in the first 5 picks
    6. Geno Smith may be the 1s QB taken and may make it out of the top 10
    7. The top WR may not go until after the 15 pick
    8. Outside of Te'o and Jones, you may only see one other LB go in the 1st

If all of that holds true and we pick in the 5 to 15 range:

    1. I think it's possible or even likely that we would miss out on Te'o
    2. Taking a WR would be drafting one a bit high
    3. Taking a QB is a possibility
    4. Going the OL or DL route would fit for our slot but isn't a top need as both units are strengths at this point
    5. CB is a real possibility.
    6. Trading down is a real option
    7. Trading our 1st for a player may make sense depending on who you get in return

So, If I had to put my finger on it, I'd say we watch on draft day for Te'o to drop to us. If he doesn't, we either take a QB or trade down. Outside chance we take Millner if he's there and move Williams to FS (depending on what we do with Byrd) or keep Williams to fight for the starting CB job. McGee and McLovin may both be gone.

    1. If he goes Top 10 he's going too early, he's just not that kind of a MLB. Top 5 is way too early for a guy who is on par with Kuechly but should go in the 11-15 range.

    2-4. Could see it.

    5. Wouldn't take him in the Top 20 at this point, short arms, extremely light, and can't get off blocks. Im going to grade him lower than Upshaw and Ingram who had the same physical issues last year but showed ability to shed. He's a 34 only OLB.

    6. He will be but he won't make it past Buffalo if they are Top 10 and KC passes

    7. When juniors declare you'll see a guy like Keenan Allen projected Top 5-10

    8. Depends on how you categorize guys like Dion Jordan and Barkevious Mingo both of whom are 34 OLB prospects

    1. I think he's sitting there if we are in the Top 10 and I expect us to be
    2. Perfect range imo
    3. Depends on which QB we are talking about
    4. I would consider taking a top LT and moving Glenn inside to solve our LG issues. Alternatively Id consider trading down and taking a top RT (Matthes, or Fluker) to solve our RT issues.

If they waste another 1st round pick on a DB, Goodell needs to step in.

Good defenses don't draft like that.

I know there is a previous thread vilifying Nix for declaring he wants a QB, but the public revelation could work both ways...If it's out there, and Smith and/or Barkely drop to our spot, there are going to be enough suitors to give up a decent deal to get our pick.

    Definite possibility.

I could picture a scenario where we really investigate the QB's this year and come to a conclusion that the guy we like the most is not Smith or Barkley. In that case I could see us moving down if both Barkley and Smith drop to us.

What are our issues at LG, unless you think they're not going to re-sign Levitre?

Sorry meant RG and my issue is consistency as well as depth are both positions.

In the unlikely scenario where both Geno Smith and Manti Te'o are available when the Bills pick, which one do they choose?
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
