Re: Republicans yank fiscal cliff ‘Plan B,’ lacked GOP backing

Just curious...who do people here blame most for this debacle here? GOP? Boehner? Both (equally?) ?

GOP has alot of blame for sure, but Boehner??? You don't announce a Plan B which you know is going to get massive publicity if you don't have the votes for it...what was he thinking??? That was totally embarrassing for him!

    As Denverboz said...goodbye, Mr. Speaker...

Well, some blame has to go to the GOP conservatives who refuse to make any compromise on taxes. But the Plan B debacle is on Boehner 100%. He has to know the group he is supposedly leading better than that. Like it or not, for better or worse, the Tea Party has been a factor in Republican politics since before the 2010 midterm elections. It's almost like Boehner is acting as if that never happened and he's leading the same Republican party that he had in 2008.

    I totally blame him!

They need to raise taxes up on those who make $250 to $500 .. anything OVER $500 raise their taxes to 70% or more .. bwahahahahahaha

It's surprising that this happened. I thought negotiations were going well. I guess that was just an illusion. Even so, it would have been less embarrassing for Boehner to put Obama's proposal to a vote rather than create something out of the blue that confused people as to why it was being done and then have it blow up in his face by his own party...

So if we "go over" the cliff... Tax cuts go bye bye. Military has no budget and people get laid off. Spending cuts kick in...Economy can slide back into the shytter.

Now can we get congressional term limits and supreme court terms?

    Crap!
Stalled farm bill may mean soaring milk prices

The average price of a gallon may double if Congress doesn't pass a new farm bill by Jan. 1

For this particular screw up? Boehner, its all on him. Though he may have been under cut by his own Judas.

I don't get it either, Boehner had a lot of what he wanted in Obama's last counter. Hell he had some Democrats saying Obama was giving away too much. Why force this?
