"Whoever did this obviously did not know about the people of Boston. Because nothing these terrorists do is gonna shake them. ... A city that withstood an 86-year-losing streak. A city that made it through the Big Dig - a construction project that backed up traffic for 16 years. I mean, there are commuters just getting home now."

1. Has Social Media eliminated the need for message boards?
It's kind of a flawed question. Message boards are social media. If you're asking if newer social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. will replace message boards, then my answer is no. Message boards serve a different purpose than a Facebook or Twitter feed. Also, it's a bad strategy as someone who provides any kind of forum or content service to put all of your content in the hands of a site or service you don't control. You could set up a discussion forum on Facebook, but you have no control or say in how it's run. And if Facebook goes under (which is always a possibility), you've lost all of your content.
