I sprained (badly) the ankle that I've had rebuilt twice, so I haven't run in over a month.... and I have a HM in 10 days. The goal will definately be to just "finish upright".
Louisiana bound!!

WOW! I finished... but geesh... I really paid. My ankle was NOT impressed with my effort lol. Around mile 6, it started getting really sore and was very swollen. By the time I got to mile 10 I thought I might pass out from the pain. But, I staggered/hobbled thru it and got the BLING!
I would not recommend anyone doing a HM on a sprained ankle almost two months of NO running.... (I checked my log book - I sprained it the day before Thanksgiving).

I sprained both my ankles running the Rock and Roll marathon in San Diego on the long slanted part of the highway. It was agony, I had to walk a lotta miles to finish it. I can't even imagine STARTING that way.

I don't know, I think spraining/twisting ankles during the race might suck more... at least I was semi-mentally prepared to be in agony. LOL
I am SOOOO running this one again though. It was an AWESOME course and very well organized. If I ever decided to make the marathon leap, this one would tempt me......![]()
Did you neoprene wrap it?
"Whoever did this obviously did not know about the people of Boston. Because nothing these terrorists do is gonna shake them. ... A city that withstood an 86-year-losing streak. A city that made it through the Big Dig - a construction project that backed up traffic for 16 years. I mean, there are commuters just getting home now."

Just KT tape. My doc ordered xrays, but the VA just rescheduled... She's worried about a stress fracture. I told her I thought it was soft tissue. After all, I'm the one that's had this silly thing rebuilt twice.... I'd be surprised if it was a fracture.
Meanwhile, I've cut waaaay back on running and have added some swimming, water walking (against a current), and a stationary bike to the mix. My next official race is in April, so I need to be better prepared!
