boisterous hubris, arrogance, self deception, conspiracy, mud slinging mixed with a heavy dose of self righteousness.
It's more than just "They do it too!"
It's that the Tour de France has done virtually nothing to STOP it - I mean...c'mon...86% of winners are tarnished with having been involved in doping? 86%??? Really??? That's turning a blind eye!
Nobody else to blame but themselves!!!

The NBC Sports Network started broadcasting every stage of the Tour to the US audience in 1999. I can't find the value of that contract but I think we can all assume they pay for the rights.
What year did Lance first win?

No, it isn't. It's pure, unadulterated "they do it too!".
hey, let's try a little blame the victim on for size.
"It's the Tour's fault Lance raped them. They were too sexy to resist and didn't put up much of a fight!"
I have to say boys, you're making my Team America thread look good.

Did the tour benefit financially from the seemingly poor over site by the Union Cycliste Internationale and the French Federation of Cycling (the groups in charge of administering drug tests)?
Alex Jones doesn't have to know but nice shot at deflection.

Did they? I don't see how.
Doping might let a rider climb a 5000' mountain a minute faster than he would have without the PEDs, but the difference will be indistinguishable to the spectators.
Nobody says "Boy, I used to think bike racing was boring, but now that they're all doping they're hitting 200 mph on the straights! That's must-see TV!"
The fact is, cycling broke out with the advent of mini-TV camera technology that let the spectators ride the race with the contestants. The Tour is fabulous TV, not because of hero worship and a burning desire to have your guy win but because it's an amazing travelogue through one of the most beautiful parts of the planet filled with a history that stretches back over two millenia. The Gyro d'Italia is amazing too.
Close enough...
You still haven't explained why the Tour De France hasn't done a DAMN thing to stop this from all the way back from 1967. This is not a recent event. This is decades and decades of turning a blind eye to it. LOL!Since Tommy Simpson's death in 1967, 86% of Tour de France winners have been tarnished or implicated by doping
But you can keep ducking that reality...
i guess this is important because the French have a cycling event. I think it's about as interesting as soccer. But I cared enough to post in the thread!
