Are you displeased with the Sabres play over the last two games? Think they're being too sloppy with the puck, or soft in the offensive zone? You're not the only one.Head coach Lindy Ruff laid down the quote of the year so far at this afternoon's short practice, saying "Every single puck is going to go deep. No more of this pond hockey *****." One of the Sabres Achilles heels over the past few seasons has been trouble entering the offensive zone, as they often try to use fancy stick work or hero passes rather than the dump and chase. It'll be interesting to see what effect this has on tomorrow's game at Washington.

At least Ruff sees what the **** went on the last two day; I'm not convince it will make a difference though.

PP, Cross Red Line, 4 foot pass to guy standing on the Blue Line, He gets pinched off, puck sent down ice.

repeat at least 5 times, before someoen does something different, gets in, 2 passes later Poms tries to force a pas through the middle w/ all 4 players on the PK there, puck goes other way, 3 on1 because Poms forgets that he's a point man he's supposed to stay around the blue line and play Defense., SH goal.

we play another team that has been playing like turns 0-3-1, betcha tomorrow Caps light us up for 5 or 6 in their 1st win.

The only problem with dump and chase is who is going to go and bang and get it for you guys? OTT? Who else? Don't you have a bunch of little guys on your team? Dumping it with no one to get it is just throwing it away. Although I guess it is better than turning it over on the blue line.

I was thinking the same thing. The guys who have the balls to go it, don't have the skills to put it in the net and the guys who have the skill, don't have the balls to go get it.

It can work with a good hard dump around to the far winger streaking in but the soft dump into the corner is going to get your little guys killed.
